I've been using the my dining area as my workspace for the past couple of years. It initially used to be in my spare bedroom but, for some reason I decided to move it to my dining area. It had a view of a green hill. Although I loved working here, it was time for a change. What sparked a change few months ago, that helped me get into a habit of programming and writing everyday, needed an upgrade. As in I wanted to move to the next level, spending more effective hours programming. So I decided to move my workspace back to the spare room. Especially since I've spent maybe a total of ten hours in this room in the last three years that I have lived in this house. So there are no states associated with this room in my brain. Right now, when I'm in this room, I'm either programming or writing only. I'm actually really liking it, don't know why I moved out of here, but I think it was because I found it hard to work in here when I moved in. Since, then my workspace has gotten convaluted with other activities, and was is in need of a change. Hence, the move back to the original location.
I find environment changes to be an easy hack to modifying behavior. It requires far less effort to build new habits when you are not fighting any old ones. The timing was perfect as I started my Zig journey and waking up earlier to accommodate this without it impeding into my other tasks. I'm still getting used to the new wake up time, but it's getting better. The struggle now is falling asleep earlier. But I'm sure, I'll get over it too.
I guess, that's all I have to say about that.
