Mondays

I think I've mentioned before that Mondays are my days off. Sometimes, I have to remind myself to take days off. It's one of the weird things thats happened since I've been self-employed. That was not very interesting.

Lasers & Rasberry-Pi's

Yesterday I was watching this video on rainbows and I got so excited that it surprised me. I was genuinely curious. I'm finding a renewed sense of curiosity towards certain Physics concepts. Mainly the ones that relate to light. Especially since I watched this Defcon video a month or two ago. The way he broke down how the concepts of light related sound. It was fascinating. I've never understood the value these concepts in school but as soon as I saw the breakdown of these concepts I was blown away. I never thought of these things that way. If I truly wish to master my craft some mechanical sympathy might be useful. Plus lasers look like fun.

It's just a computer but somehow the idea of Raberry Pi is just awesome. It's so tiny and you can build anything with it. I'm gonna get my hands on one and build something physical with it. I don't know what I want to build with it yet, but I'll think of something.

Is this it?

For a while now, I've been telling myself that one of the uses for Claude is to make it write Alpine Js code. Since it was my day off, I decided to do some Alpine to get some familiarity with it. It took less than an hour to just get it. I built a few small components and I got used to it quite quickly. I'm feeling quite silly to have pushed this to the side. Sometimes I forget that I was a frontend developer for a long time.

HTML events from the server

Was working on part of a UI and I wanted to provide a good experience to the user to let them know that their request has been received and that the action was successful. It was the perfect excuse to trigger an event to my notification component on the UI via the server using HX-Trigger. It was quite satisfying.

I'm nearing a 100 posts soon. It's quite satisfying to know that 80+ of those posts have come just in the last three months. That's almost a post a day. It's something I've always wanted to do, quite happy to have been able to build this habit.
