The Joe Rogan podcast with Guy Ritchie for me is one of the best conversations I've had the pleasure of coming across, which I've listened to a couple of times now. Its strange how you can read a entire book, yet miss the essence of it. I'm speaking of the book Extreme Ownership here. The essence of the book is quite eloquently put forward by Guy Ritchie in the podcast by the example of the Suit. Which all of a sudden makes a so much more sense to me. The idea is very simple, show up to whatever you do fully present. Be it work, training, streaming or writing this blog. What makes someone an owner? It's more than the aspect of paying for it. I don't fully understand it yet, but I know I will. If I take the aspect of writing software for example, do I write the best software that I can write at all times? Not at all, but I know I can. What's the point of half arsing it? If I'm going to write it, why not write the best I can? The beauty of it is that, all you have to be is present to what you are doing. I have absentmindedly written code more times than I would like to admit. It doesn't have to be that way.
