Progress: Current slow days >= Past productive days

It's true and feels fucking good too. Today felt like a slow day, mainly because it was. To my surprise, this one only felt slow but was by no means unproductive. My threshold for getting work done is improving by quite a bit. Yet it still feels like I have a lot left in the tank. Might also have felt slow because I woke up extra early today. About an hour earlier. Was in a good mood to tackle the tls connection on the browser project. Got it done too, by about 0800 hours I had made progress on the browser. The lines of code are not a lot but it's mostly because I had already done the hard bits, I just did not realize it that's all. I like when that happens, it's always a nice surprise.

The afternoon felt slow, mostly because the end results were just not there. I had decided to tackle two user experience issues today, both of which I failed at miserably. I've gotten so used to using the browser supported Html elements to do all the heavy lifting, I genuinely struggled when I had to use something custom. I'll probably tackle it tomorrow. A weird reversal of scenarios, considering as a React developer in the early days, I used to write everything from scratch in JavaScript.

Just did not want to end the day like that. So I decided to do some quick win tasks that would have to be done at some point. Changed my entire outlook of the day I had. Also, helped me remember that I finished the browser task this morning. Which I totally forgot about. Surprising how you find positive or negative things based on what you are looking for. At the same time acknowledging the negative and doing something about it if you can, is quite empowering and can genuinely change your outlook of the entire day. It has been true for today, at least.

Claude is back

It did not even take a week of experimentation to realize that Claude is just much more superior to regular search. One of the problems is that, traditional search engines have vastly reduced lateral searching capabilities. AI search engines are just much better at it. Now I'm thinking, might there be a way to capture problem more accurately. I'll leave this to the finest AI engineers who are at it daily.

One more reason I missed Claude was that, I haven't taken the time to get good at Alpine Js, which is completely my shortcoming. I do need to just spend a couple of hours to get comfortable with it. I'm quite comfortable with JS, so I just need to understand Alpine specific concepts better. Not hard.

Waking up before sunrise

For the past three weeks I've been waking up before 0600, it has made a visible difference to how productive I am, how much I get done and the quality of my sleep. The first week was a bit uncomfortable but now I wake up a few minutes before the alarm consistently. I am a morning person, so it has a considerably positive impact on my mood and energy when I wake up. There has been a direct co-relation with how I've felt, how healthy I have been by looking the times I've been waking up. I'm glad I decided to reinstate the alarm.
